 As you work on this activity, follow these guidelines: Imagine a sample successful student response for each question. Think about how you would help your students understand how to solve the problem. Jot down phrases that will help you remember your ideas. Consider the communication purpose of this problem and of the sample statement by an upper elementary teacher. Class A and Class B are having a bubble gum blowing contest. It is up to you to decide the winner. To do this, complete each of the five steps, using the "Next" button to move forward. There is a different number of students in each class. This means that you can’t simply choose the class that blows the most bubbles.
